# SUBSTELLAR — Website-agent content update 05

**Edition:** Current direction and worked journeys 05, 7 October 2026.
**Purpose:** Add the completed documentation and artwork to the Website agent’s ongoing work from Illustrated Overview 03 / Reader Update 04.

Use **SUBSTELLAR_Content_Update_05.zip** alongside the baseline ZIP already supplied. This is an additive content and asset update. Merge it into your project’s established source area and presentation; preserve the UI, components, routes, and other website work already underway. The complete edition folder ZIP is also available if you need a standalone reader or a fresh source snapshot. Check its edition manifest before using an archive with a familiar filename.

No remote repository path, publication, or cross-agent filesystem access has been verified here. Report your actual integration paths and any commit or branch you create. Paths below are relative to the supplied `substellar/` document folder.

## What this edition adds

| Slice and source key | New text source under `sources/` | Completed scope |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1 — `current-direction` | `current_direction_05.txt` | One connected account across thirteen topics, covering the full direction from foundation and Earth through space, settlements, industry, equipment, and visual identity. Links all 45 earlier chapters and records thirteen evidenced reconciliations. |
| 2 — `worked-progression` | `progression_worked_example_05.txt` | A worked chain from powered workshop to first lunar return, including preparation, commissioning, protected reserves, recovery, sample custody, and a useful returned-material application. |
| 3 — `occupied-spaces` | `occupied_spaces_05.txt` | Guesthouse restoration, starter lunar refuge, and the forming press in use and service; three concept boards and supporting access, dependency, supply, and decision diagrams. |
| 4 — `lunar-expedition` | `lunar_expedition_05.txt` | The complete existing MO-EXP-01, “The first tube and the view home”: Earthrise Rim, Regolith Hollows, an accessible Basalt Gallery overlook/light shaft, refuge, and Earth return. Shadow Basin and Glassfall remain optional later extensions. |

The verified edition totals are **111,411 source words**, including **20,676 added words**, across **49 chapters and 11 sources**. All seven earlier sources, their **90,735 words**, 45 chapters, and existing source-block identities remain preserved. The consolidated chapter provides a current reading layer with links to full detail; it does not replace the original writing.

There are **59 distinct visuals**: the preserved 50 plus **three generated concept boards and six editable SVGs**. The current total comprises 34 raster originals and 25 SVG figures. WebP display copies represent the same raster images. All 15 supplied reference sheets remain included. Representative coverage is complete for the named additions; entire future artwork families are not finished.

## Files to ingest

Start with `sources/README_05.txt` and `sources/edition05_integration.json`. The integration JSON collects source descriptions, topics, decisions, reconciliations, remaining expansions, slices, figures, and insertion references. The update archive’s `content_update_05.json` records baseline and payload hashes for comparison.

| Supporting files under `sources/` | Use |
| --- | --- |
| `direction_map_05.json` | Thirteen current topics; every original chapter mapped by source key and exact chapter title, with existing link identities and editorial evidence. |
| `source_anchor_map_05.json` | Canonical chapter and section links across all 49 chapters, plus 494 canonical-symbol links. |
| `decisions_05.json`, `remaining_expansion_05.json` | Three material choices and 23 further-detail families with scope and completion criteria. |
| `progression_ledger_05.json` | Prerequisites, typed reserves, sample custody, candidate supply routes, accounting examples, and explicitly unresolved parameters. |
| `lunar_expedition_register_05.json` | Expedition moments, anchors, branches, rewards, and completion criteria. |
| `visuals_05.json`, `diagrams_05.json` | The nine additions, captions, source relationships, paths, and proposal notes. Use `visuals_05.json` for package-relative asset paths. |
| `visual_catalogue_05.json` | Complete current catalogue of 59 distinct visuals. |
| `prompts_05.json`, `visuals_05_source_record.json` | Image-generation briefs, inspected references, and provenance. |
| `edition-manifest.json`, `illustrated-overview-03-reader-04-manifest.json` | Current totals and preservation records; retained baseline manifest for comparison. |

The update also includes refreshed `sources/complete-direction.txt` with all eleven sources. Keep the separate files as comparison and attribution units. The old handoff, prompt, and snapshot remain historical records; their older counts and “consolidation still proposed” wording no longer describe this edition.

New raster originals are `images/originals/cd05-a01.png`, `cd05-a02.png`, and `cd05-a03.png`; matching display files are `images/cd05-a01.webp` through `cd05-a03.webp`. They show the guesthouse, lunar refuge, and IND-M04 forming press respectively. Their stable IDs are **CD05-A01–A03**.

The six files in `images/diagrams/` are:

- `cd05-d01-source-relationships.svg`
- `cd05-d02-workshop-lunar-loop.svg`
- `cd05-d03-mission-reserves.svg`
- `cd05-d04-return-point-plans.svg`
- `cd05-d05-tier1-decisions.svg`
- `cd05-d06-first-lunar-route.svg`

Preserve **CD05-D01–D06**, **CD05-T01–T13**, **WP05-PLAN-01–12**, **OS05-01–08**, **LE05-PLAN-01–15**, and all existing source, figure, and register IDs. If website URLs differ, maintain an explicit source-to-route crosswalk and working access to complete source chapters.

## Authority and three pending choices

Original approved writing and confirmed supplied artwork retain their authority. Later operational details, generated concepts, numerical geometry, recipes, capacities, and rates retain their recorded proposal or recommendation status. A later file or illustrated dimension does not automatically approve a production specification.

| Decision | Current recommendation and limit |
| --- | --- |
| **T1-DEC01 — Explorer scale/cabin** | Test the proposed nine-block height, 3×3 body, and 5×5 fin envelope against a usable cabin, two-boundary airlock, access, and supplies. Measured fit and user model review precede final production approval. |
| **T1-DEC02 — Station forms** | Smaller REF10 Part Fabrication Table; broader REF09 Rocket Assembly Station controlling a linked vehicle berth. Preserve the two functions and pending form review. |
| **CEC01 — Mars brine-mat life** | Conditional observation content. Keep it absent from unselected Mars imagery; the geological campaign works without it. |

None blocks finishing this documentation, and the First Playable register has no blocking decision. Recommendations remain defaults.

Apply the reconciliation ledger when revising website explanations: early Tier 1 can precede the Core; Explorer is the current orbital/lunar vehicle while Keel/Pilgrim remain historical proposals. The forming press is a regional capacity upgrade with earlier simple shaping available. The refuge’s dust porch is an optional extension. Worked renewable-carbon/process-water propellant and powered Earth atmosphere-processing breathing routes are recommended candidates; their bills and coefficients remain unresolved. Labelled bookkeeping vectors are not measured game balance or final chemistry.

## Merge and verify in your project

1. Inspect your current repository, imported baseline, and in-progress changes. Compare source identities and hashes before merging; retain the baseline snapshot for provenance.
2. Import the four text additions, structured records, and nine visuals. Reconcile changed manifests, combined text, and catalogues deliberately. Preserve original source and artwork bytes.
3. Update your source-to-page mapping and visitor-facing explanations. Keep current reading links, full-source access, decision labels, captions, and original-resolution asset access together.
4. Adapt content to your existing components. Treat the bundled `index.html`, builder, and reader scripts as a reference implementation; do not replace your application wholesale or overwrite UI work with the document folder.
5. Verify integrated counts, unique IDs, source links, asset loading, and status labels. Review `reviews/edition05_review.json` and `reviews/worked_example_accounting_05.json`: preservation passed, the fresh portable rebuild is byte-identical, and 14 ledger/prerequisite checks pass. Test navigation, responsive layouts, and artwork presentation in your supported browser; browser interaction remains unverified here.
6. Report changed assumptions, actual saved paths, completed website work, and specific remaining gaps. Keep further artwork needs scoped to subjects and views in the expansion register.

Continue website work under the permissions already established with the user. Actual mod development still requires explicit **BUILD** approval. Documentation and concept art do not establish implemented game features or release dates.

## Recommended message to send with the update ZIP

> Please merge SUBSTELLAR_Content_Update_05.zip into your ongoing website work alongside the baseline I already sent. Read WEBSITE_AGENT_UPDATE_05.md and the edition05 integration records. The four completed additions are current-direction consolidation, worked workshop-to-Moon progression, occupied places/machinery with three new boards and six SVGs, and the full first lunar expedition. Preserve your UI work, the original sources and artwork, stable IDs, and approval/proposal distinctions. Update the source-to-page mapping and current website plan, then continue the website work already authorised. Keep full-source access and the three pending material decisions visible where relevant. Check links, assets, responsiveness, and navigation in your own environment, and report actual integration paths and remaining gaps. This remains website/content work; actual mod development requires my explicit BUILD approval.
